Stutthof Diaries

Tore Jorgensen, a Norwegian born Canadian, is currently putting together a very exciting book based around his father’s experiences as a wartime Police Officer – one of 271 officers who were arrested by the Germans in 1943 under the code name of ‘Aktion Polarkreis’ . Tore, who was born in Kristiansund, but emigrated to Canada in 1957, is shortly to publish his father’s diaries as well as penning a novel based around the diaries. The arrested police offers officers were originally sent to various concentration camps in Norway such as Falstad, Grini and Epseland, but on December 8, 1943 they were deported to KZ Stutthof in Eastern Prussia. The diaries are unique and have never been published before. There are further plans in the pipeline and I will update this blog as soon as I have details on publication dates and other news.
