HMS Hardy

Les Smale

Les Smale – survivor of HMS Hardy.

Ron Cope, an experienced researcher,  has been documenting the history  surrounding HMS Hardy – the destroyer that was lost at the Battle of Narvik. There were two battles at Narvik with the Royal Navy inflicting substantial damage to the German Kriegsmarine. HMS Hardy subsequently became a victim of that first battle, and Ron’s painstaking research in to that brave and daring fight is one of pure dedication. Ron writes with eloquence using a flash-back style not too dis-similar to that great film, ‘In Which We Serve’. We look forward to his book being published on the subject and  I will update the blog as soon as I hear anything new.

Update May 2015: Ron’s book has now been published and is titled, ‘Attack at Dawn’. It’s available from Amazon. Congratulations, Ron!
